Colorado Springs

TraveLibro United States of America Colorado Springs Featured City
When movies and sitcoms base the drama around tough, military conditions, Colorado becomes home for the script. The abode of the United Air Force Academy, this city offers an eagle’s view of incredible Nature from the Pikes Peak. Hiking through the Red Rock Canyon or trekking up the Garden of Gods spikes up the adrenaline as analyzing Starr Kempf’s Metal Structures reveals ingenuity in triviality. The excitement in Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is rivalled by the amazement experienced at the Fine Arts Centre. Also known to be home to more than 80 religious organizations, the city provides the perfect sanctorum for spirituality. Ensnared by the North Cheyenne Canon Park and El Pomer Carriage Museum, this city makes you take a part of its exuberance with you back home.

Starr Kempf's Metal Sculptures

Marvel at the well-welded iconic steel sculptures near the entrance of North Cheyenne Canon Park. The structures were createdby Starr Gideon Kempf, a sculptor, architect, and artist. Nestled in the yard of Starr Kempf’s home, watch these huge metal sculptures sway with the wind. Due to the controversy with the neighbours after the artist’s suicide, many of the sculptures were dismantled but around ten still remain. While access inside the backyard may be difficult due to the persistent controversy, watch the sculptures swaying to the rhythm of the wind, which make for an intrinsically beautiful sight.
