Edinburgh

TraveLibro United Kingdom Edinburgh Featured City
Edinburgh is a place where the air is infused with celebration: the lush hills are lit with sunlight like the clubs with people, the rugged cliffs are as stunning as the music scene and the blue sea, as eternal as the parties!
Piercing the skyline is the Edinburgh castle and the 15th century St Giles Cathedral, the Calton Hill with its Athenian Acropolis, the 18th century Real Mary King’s Close, Scottish National Gallery of 1850s are all tokens of time. The sleek Tower poses a stark contrast to these. The exquisite Rosslyn Chapel, the Holyrood Park and West Princes Street Gardens, all provide for a silent relaxation. Go for the Scotch Whisky Experience, that offers a tour through 300 years of whisky history. Hogmanay is a day when the celebrations are in full swing and if you’re able to partake, you’ll forever be in awe of the city!

Outdoor swimming

Swimming as a sport has existed long before the advent of the concept of a swimming pool. Outdoor swimming can be traced back to Roman times and the distance covered in each competition depends on the size of the water body. The most sought after or famous locations where this sport is regularly done are the Musselburgh Lagoon, the Portobello Beach and the Balerno and Threipmuir reservoirs. Enjoy a relaxing swimming session at any of the mentioned venues. We say this is a must for water lovers.
