TraveLibro India Kodaikanal Featured City Coakers Walk

Coakers Walk

Stroll along Coaker’s Walk, a narrow winding one kilometre pedestrian path, constructed by Lt Coaker in 1872. Running along the edges of steep slopes on the southern side, the walk offers some scintillating views of the town and its surroundings. If you are lucky you can catch ‘Brocken Spectre’, a stunning phenomenon where the shadow of a person can be seen on the clouds with the halo of a rainbow. If you visit during winter, you can see the snow clouds beneath you. Catch the stunning sunrise too if you can. Use the telescope in the observatory halfway through the walk.
