Visit the lovely and popular Palace of Fine Arts situated in the Marina District that was originally constructed for the Panama-Pacific Exposition in 1915 to display art works presented here. Though such buildings were supposed to be temporary, the classical Roman Rotunda and eight curved evenly-spaced colonnades were framed in wood. The other structures didn’t last, however, the crescent-shaped gallery behind the rotunda with art works survived due to its concrete walls.
